## Description

The 2 euro coin was minted by Finland in 2025 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the traditional track and field match between the Finnish and Swedish national teams (Suomi–Ruotsi-maaotellu), first held in 1925.

#### Obverse

The standard obverse of the 2 euro coins: a map of the EU, the 12 stars of the European Union, the Vantaa mint mark and the year 2025.

#### Reverse

The reverse depicts a stylized figure of a runner on a track with Finnish and Swedish colors - a symbol of centuries-old sporting rivalry and friendship. The inscription "SUOMI-RUOTSI 100 VUOTTA", "SUOMI FINLAND 2025" and the 12 stars of the EU decorate the coin.

#### Historical context

The first Finland-Sweden track and field match took place in 1925 in Stockholm. It is the oldest regular international team track and field tournament in the world.
