The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is pleasant to look at. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: a set of two commemorative coins is dedicated to unique representatives of the marine fauna of the Black and Azov Seas - an integral part of the natural heritage of Ukraine.
Overse
The obverse side is built as a holistic scenography, where state symbols are combined with images of the issue theme. In the upper part, the inscription BICHOK-KRUGLYAK is indicated in an arc, and at the bottom - NEOGOBIUS MELANOSTOMUS. In the foreground, a laying of eggs is shown, which emphasizes the reproductive function of the species and its ecological significance. On the obverse of the coin dedicated to the Sea of Azov, in the center of the composition there is a noticeably stylized contour of the Sea of Azov with the adjacent territory of Ukraine, made in the form of relief horizontal lines imitating sea waves. The reverse of the coin shows two round bulls (decorative element – color printing) in their natural environment – on a sandy and muddy bottom among rocky debris and aquatic vegetation. In the lower part of the composition, the inscriptions: SEA OF AZOV and THE SEA OF AZOV are clearly visible in an arc. At the bottom of the coin, the denomination 5 with the graphic sign of the hryvnia and the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine are clearly visible. In the upper part, on the right side, there is a small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, under which the year of minting – 2025 – is indicated horizontally, and the inscription UKRAINE is indicated vertically. The reverse is the central story of the coin: the symbols are arranged so that the plot “comes to life” under different angles of light. In the upper part, the inscription DIOGENES PUGILATOR is visible in an arc, and below – RAK-SAMITNYK. The obverse of the coin dedicated to the Black Sea shows a stylized outline of the Black Sea with the adjacent territory of Ukraine, made in the form of relief horizontal lines of different lengths, imitating sea waves. At the bottom in the center is the denomination – 5 with a graphic sign of the hryvnia, the year of minting the coin – 2025, as well as the emblem of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint. In the lower part of the composition, the inscriptions: ЧОРНЕ МОРЕ and THE BLACK SEA are visible in an arc. The reverse of the coin shows a hermit crab (decorative element – color printing) in a typical biotope – on a rocky bottom with shells and shell fragments, which are typical of the coastal zone of the Black Sea. In the upper part on the right side, a small State Emblem of Ukraine is noticeable, under which the inscription UKRAINE is indicated.
