The coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian language — a living space in which memory, freedom, and daily care for each other resonate. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: a set of circulation commemorative coins “Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine”, dedicated to the courageous defenders of Ukraine — soldiers of the armed forces, border guards, guardsmen, police officers, rescuers.
Obverse
The obverse is described for the coins included in the set: they all have a common “state” compositional basis of circulation commemorative 10-hryvnia issues. The upper part usually shows the small State Emblem of Ukraine, and the central field is framed by a stylized Old Russian ornament. The composition reads the inscriptions “UKRAINE” and “10 HRYVENE”, supplemented by the year of minting of the corresponding coin and the sign of the NBU Banknote and Mint. The unity of the obverse creates the feeling of a holistic collection: the different plots of the set are united by a common style and a laconic statesmanlike presentation.
Reverse
The reverses in the set are different, because the collection is assembled from 27 circulation commemorative coins with a face value of 10 hryvnias, which were put into circulation in 2018–2025. Each coin has its own thematic plot: emblems of the branches of the armed forces and services, slogans of units, symbols of professional support, as well as images of modern events and iconic places (in particular, air defense, logistics, cybersecurity, Antonivskyi Bridge, etc.). It is the reverses that make the set a "living chronicle" of defense: from portrait and heraldic compositions to technical motifs and stylized scenes. Together they form a comprehensive history of gratitude to those who maintain the country's security and freedom.
Historical context
The Ukrainian language is not only a way of communication, but also a pillar of identity: traditions, songs, literature, and family memories are transmitted through it. In the 20th and 21st centuries, it repeatedly became a marker of freedom and statehood, and now it sounds like a daily gesture of unity and mutual support.
