The 10 yuan coin was minted by the People's Bank of China in 2025 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II and the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937–1945). The commemorative issue is part of a broad state program to commemorate the victims and heroes of this conflict, which in China is officially called the "People's Liberation War of Anti-Japanese War".
