Around it is the inscription "Célébrer les soins de santé pendant la pandemia de Covid-19" (Celebrating healthcare during the Covid-19 pandemic) in the three official languages of Belgium. The country code "BE", the year "2022", the mintmarks and the director's marks are present. On the outer ring - 12 stars of the European Union.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a global pandemic of the coronavirus disease SARS-CoV-2, which began in late 2019 in China and quickly spread throughout the world. By 2022, the pandemic had claimed more than 6 million lives worldwide. Belgium was among the worst-hit countries in Europe - at the time of the coin's issuance, the country had one of the highest mortality rates per capita in the world. Healthcare workers — doctors, nurses, orderlies, lab technicians, researchers — have become the true heroes of the pandemic, risking their own health to save the lives of millions. This coin is a tribute to their dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice during the greatest health crisis of our time.
