Obverse

The standard obverse of the 2 euro coin features a map of the European Union, 12 EU stars on the outer ring, the Vantaa mint mark and the year of minting 2008.

Reverse

The reverse features a stylized human figure with raised arms, a symbol of freedom and dignity. The inscriptions "IHMISOIKEUDET" (human rights in Finnish), "SUOMI FINLAND 2008" and "60" mark the anniversary of the declaration. In a circle are the 12 stars of the EU.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted on December 10, 1948, by the UN General Assembly in Paris.
