The 2 euro coin was minted by Finland in 2018 as part of the "National Landscapes of Finland" series and is dedicated to Mount Koli, a picturesque mountain range in Karelia that inspired Finnish artists and poets of the Romantic era.

The standard obverse of the 2 euro coins: a map of the EU, the 12 stars of the European Union, the Vantaa mint mark and the year 2018.
Reverse
The reverse depicts a panoramic view from the top of Mount Koli - rocky slopes covered with forest and a lake landscape below. The inscriptions "KOLI", "SUOMI FINLAND 2018" and the 12 stars of the EU frame the landscape. The design conveys the grandeur and tranquility of this place.
Historical context
Mount Koli (347 m) is located on the shores of Lake Pielinen in North Karelia. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Jan Sibelius and other representatives of Finnish national romanticism visited here. Today, Koli is a national park, a popular tourist destination and a symbol of Finland's natural beauty.
