Historical context
Finland traditionally conducted active neutral diplomacy during the Cold War, acting as a platform for international negotiations (Helsinki Act 1975). In 2023, the country joined NATO, which marked a fundamental change in its foreign policy course. Today, Finland is an active member of the EU, the UN and NATO, conducting extensive diplomatic activities.
