A joint 2-euro coin minted by France together with the eurozone countries in 2022 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Erasmus programme. The French version features an obverse featuring Marianne.
Obverse
The French obverse features Marianne, the inscription "RF" and the Paris Mint mark. The year of minting is 2022.
Reverse
The joint reverse features a stylised "E" for Erasmus. The inscriptions "ERASMUS" and "1987–2022" mark the 35th anniversary. The outer ring features the 12 EU stars and the inscription "RF".
Historical context
Erasmus was launched in 1987 to support student exchanges between EU universities. France is one of the most active participants in the program. Over 35 years, more than 12 million young people have benefited from it.
