The 2 euro coin was minted by France in 2025 to commemorate the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris, which was destroyed by fire on April 15, 2019. After the restoration, the cathedral reopened in December 2024.

Historical context
The fire in Notre Dame occurred on April 15, 2019 - the roof and spire burned down. The restoration took five years with the participation of hundreds of craftsmen. Financing - more than 840 million euros from private donations. The cathedral opened its doors on December 7, 2024.
