The center of the coin depicts a stylized portrait of Miki Muster along with his most famous characters Zeke and Brooke - the characteristic rabbit and fox from his comics. At the top - "MIKI MUSTER", at the bottom - "SLOVENIJA" with the dates "1925-2025". Mintmark. On the ring - 12 EU stars.
Reverse
The reverse is the common side of the 2 euro coins of the second type, designed by Luc Luix (Royal Belgian Mint). It depicts a map of Europe as a single continent without internal borders - a symbol of European unity. On the left - a large denomination "2" and the inscription "EURO", on the right - a map with six thin horizontal lines. On the outer ring - 12 stars of the European Union. The band - with thin ribbing and the inscription "SLOVENIJA ★", repeated.
Historical context
Miki Muster (November 22, 1925 - May 7, 2018) was the most famous Slovenian caricaturist, animator, and illustrator of the 20th century. He was born in Murska Sobota (then Yugoslavia). He was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In 1949, Muster created his most famous comic series "Zek and Brook" (Zvitorepec, Trdonja, Lakotnik) - the adventures of the clever fox Zek and the good-natured turtle Brook. The series was published in the magazine "Tovariš" from 1952 and became a cult classic for several generations of Slovenians. In 1957, he created the first Slovenian cartoon. In 1968, he moved to Munich (Germany), where he worked as an animator at the famous Studio B (Munich), creating advertising cartoons for many European companies. In 2003, he returned to Slovenia. During his career, he received numerous awards. He died on May 7, 2018 in Ljubljana. The 100th anniversary of his birth will be celebrated in 2025.
