The coin honors the defense force and the people who keep the country going - discreetly and very expressively. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: the coin is dedicated to one of the oldest higher educational institutions in southern Ukraine, which was founded in November 1917 on the basis of the evacuated to Kherson Yuryev Teachers' Institute.
Obverse
On the obverse, the composition is readable at first glance: the official attributes of the state and the details of the plot work as a single whole. The year of minting the coin is 2017 and the mark of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (bottom right). The plasticity of the lines and strict inscriptions give the design a sense of composure, and the plot sounds like a sign of gratitude and strength. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The corporate emblem of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is the central story of the coin: the symbols are arranged so that the plot "comes to life" under different angles of light. The reverse of the coin features a noticeably stylized composition: against the background of the book, a historical building of the city is shown, to which the university moved in 1922, and the inscriptions: 100/ YEARS/ KHERSON/ STATE/ UNIVERSITY. The plasticity of the lines and strict inscriptions give the design a sense of composure, and the plot sounds like a sign of gratitude and strength. The texture of the field shows noticeable relief transitions: from thin strokes to deeper areas that catch the light beautifully when the coin is turned.

The coin reminds of the modern defense of Ukraine and of the people and structures that keep the country safe every day.
