The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is pleasant to look at. Obverse

The year of minting the coin is 2019 (on the left side), the mark of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (on the right side) in the center on the mirror surface – a stylized composition: a helicoid (screw surface) is shown, against the background of which – a polygonal approximation of the curve and the denomination – 2, below the inscription – HRYVNI. The obverse of the coin features: in the upper part – a small State Emblem of Ukraine, on both sides of which are the inscriptions: NATIONAL (on the left side), BANK OF UKRAINE (on the right side). The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The corporate emblem of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is the central story of the coin: the symbols are arranged so that the plot "comes to life" under different angles of light. The reverse of the coin shows a portrait of Oleksiy Pogorelov on a mirror surface, to the left of which is an abstract figure symbolizing the mathematician's topological research in geometry, and the inscriptions: OLEKSII/POGORELOV/1919 – 2002 The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The texture of the field shows noticeable relief transitions: from thin strokes to deeper areas that beautifully catch the light when the coin is turned.
