The coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian language — a living space in which memory, freedom, and daily care for each other resonate. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: dedicated to the Ukrainian historian, Slavist, linguist, orientalist, writer, translator, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, and one of the first academicians.
Obverse

Krymsky's composition, symbolizing the activities of the orientalist scholar and the source of knowledge — a geometric decor of open books folded into a multi-rayed star, in the center of which are the words of A. Krymsky: I UNDERSTOOD/ THAT I MUST BE/ A UKRAINOPHILE –/ THIS I UNDERSTOOD/ FULLY CONSCIOUSLY. The obverse of the coin features: in the upper part – a small State Emblem of Ukraine, on the right side of which are the inscriptions: UKRAINE/2 HRYVNI/2021 the mark of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (bottom right). The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's item. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The corporate emblem of the Banknote and Mint of the NBU emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is dominated by a thematic motif, complemented by inscriptions and details that emphasize the idea of the issue. At the bottom, the years of his life - 1871-1942. The reverse of the coin shows a portrait of Agathangel Krymsky against the background of vertical lines, which add a certain drama and symbolize the tragic fate of the scientist. Under the portrait, there are diagonally placed inscriptions: AGATHANGEL (on the left side), KRYMSKY (on the right side). The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. In the texture of the field, relief transitions are noticeable: from thin strokes to deeper areas that beautifully catch the light when the coin is turned.
