The coin honors the strength of the defense and the people thanks to whom the country is held - restrained and very expressive. The plot and details of the design emphasize the theme: dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian statesman and politician, military leader, Hetman of Ukraine (1918). Descendant of an ancient Cossack family Pavlo Sskoropadsky.
Obverse
On the obverse, the composition is readable at first glance: the official attributes of the state and the details of the plot work as a single whole. The obverse of the coin shows: on the mirror surface at the bottom – the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription UKRAINE, on the right side – the year of minting the coin 2023, in the center, against the background of a stylized maypole of flags – a triangle (vignette by Heorhiy Narbut), symbolizing a certain cultural, economic flourishing of the Ukrainian State during the Skoropadskyi Hetmanate, which is framed by the inscriptions: UKRAINIZATION (in the upper part), EDUCATION, HRYVNYA (on both sides) at the bottom – the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (on the left side) in the upper part on the mirror surface – the denomination 2 and the graphic sign of the hryvnia. The plasticity of the lines and strict inscriptions give the design a sense of composure, and the plot sounds like a sign of gratitude and strength. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The trademark of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse side reveals the main image of the issue in expressive relief and multi-layered composition. The reverse of the coin features: a portrait of Pavlo Skoropadsky (on the right side), on the left side of which is a composition symbolizing the events of the Ukrainian Revolution, in the upper part on the mirror surface the years of life 1873 • 1945, below the inscription PAVLO/SKOROPADSKY. The plasticity of the lines and strict inscriptions give the design a sense of composure, and the plot sounds like a sign of gratitude and strength. In the texture of the field, relief transitions are noticeable: from thin strokes to deeper areas that beautifully catch the light when the coin is turned.
