The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is pleasant to look at. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: dedicated to the famous Ukrainian film studio, which has created a large number of popular films over its long history. The Odesa Film Studio of Feature Films was organized in 1919.
Obverse
On the obverse, the composition is readable at first glance: the official attributes of the state and the details of the plot work as a single whole. Under the coat of arms on a matte field is the building of the film studio, on the right side of which is the vertical inscription FIVE HRYVENS. The obverse of the coin shows: on the left side – a small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which is the inscription UKRAINE against the background of a stylized film strip, the inscription – 20/19 (the film studio sign is inscribed in the zero, around which is the inscription – Odesa FILM STUDIO), the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (below). The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The corporate emblem of the Banknote and Mint of the NBU emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is dominated by a thematic motif, complemented by inscriptions and details that emphasize the idea of the issue. The reverse of the coin shows: a stylized inscription of the year of the film studio's foundation - 19/19 in the upper part, on the right side on the mirror surface - a clapperboard (a tool used to synchronize sound and image during filming), on the left side below on the matted field - a mirrored outline of a retro film camera. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collectible expressiveness. In the texture of the field, relief transitions are noticeable: from thin strokes to deeper areas that beautifully catch the light when the coin is turned.
Historical context
The plot of the coin is tied to an event or image that is important for Ukrainian memory. Such issues become small "time capsules": they preserve the emotion of the moment, a cultural sign and recognizable symbolism for future generations.
