The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is a pleasure to look at. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: dedicated to the centenary of the legendary Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater, which began its activities in 1920 in Vinnytsia.
Obverse
On the obverse, the composition is readable at first glance: the official attributes of the state and the details of the plot work as a single whole. On the mirror surface on the left side, a portrait of Hnat Yura is visible, on the right side of which there is a vertical inscription ГНАТ ЮРА, on the right side – a portrait of Amvrosiy Buchma, on the left side of which there is a vertical inscription АМВРОСИЙ/БУЧМА, who were one of the founders of the theater, the year of the theater’s foundation is indicated at the bottom – 1920, in the upper part on the right side – the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. On the obverse of the coin, the following are visible: a small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which the inscription УКРАЇНА is indicated in an arc, under the emblem – the year of minting of the coin 2020 and the denomination – 5 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia are indicated. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector’s expressiveness. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. Reverse
The reverse is dominated by a thematic motif, complemented by inscriptions and details that emphasize the idea of the issue. On the matted field are the inscriptions: 100/YEARS (under the building), NATIONAL (vertically on the left side), ACADEMIC (in the upper part), DRAMATIC (vertically on the right side), THEATRE/IN THE NAME OF IVAN/FRANKO (below). On the reverse of the coins, a composition stylized as a theater sign is noticeable: in a square frame on a mirror surface, there is a relief image of the theater building. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The company mark of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue. The texture of the field shows noticeable relief transitions: from thin strokes to deeper areas that catch the light beautifully when the coin is turned.
