The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is pleasant to look at. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the tragedy that occurred in the Babyn Yar tract in Kyiv during World War II. From September 1941 to the end of September 1943, it was a place of executions.
Obverse

The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The trademark of the NBU Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse side reveals the main image of the issue in expressive relief and multi-layered composition. The reverse of the coin shows an artistic composition reflecting the tragedy of Babyn Yar - anthropomorphic figures that supposedly lie underground and personify the executed families, and in the upper part the inscription is clearly visible: 80-ТИ РОКОВИНЫ/ТРАГЕДИЙ В БАБЫНОМ ЯРУ. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. In the texture of the field, there are noticeable transitions of relief: from thin strokes to deeper areas that beautifully catch the light when the coin is turned.
