The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is pleasant to look at. The plot and details of the design emphasize the theme: dedicated to little Ukrainians who carry the life-giving roots of centuries and modernity, whose place and time of birth on this earth are not accidental. In the small palms of our children is our tomorrow, and in our hands is their present.
Obverse
The obverse presents the theme through a combination of state symbols, inscriptions and finely thought-out relief. The obverse of the coin shows: in the upper part, the small State Emblem of Ukraine, on the left and right sides of which are the inscriptions in an arc – UKRAINE, the year of minting of the coin 2023, below on the mirror surface – the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine, the denomination FIVE HRYVYN, in the center is a painting by Oleg Shupliak “Cradle” filled with folk color, which embodies one of the most precious archetypes of Ukrainians – the parental home surrounded by mallows and a towel, which is at the same time a cradle and a nest, symbolizing the continuation of the family. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collectible expressiveness. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The trademark of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is dominated by a thematic motif, complemented by inscriptions and details that emphasize the idea of the issue. The reverse of the coin shows a painting by Oleg Shupliak “Connection”: against the background of a stylized universe, there is a baby astronaut who is inextricably linked by an umbilical cord to mother Ukraine (map of Ukraine above), on the left side, in an arc, the mirror inscription BORN IN UKRAINE is clearly visible. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The texture of the field shows noticeable relief transitions: from thin strokes to deeper areas that catch the light beautifully when the coin is turned.
Historical context
The plot of the coin is tied to an event or image that is important for Ukrainian memory. Such issues become small "time capsules": they preserve the emotion of the moment, a cultural sign, and recognizable symbolism for future generations.
