A coin about humanity and mutual support - that in the most difficult times, unity saves and heals. The plot and details of the design emphasize the theme: dedicated to Ukrainian women. They destroy stereotypes, hold the defense at the front and in the rear: they fight, work, feed, volunteer, pray, wait, love and protect our lives, culture and future of Ukraine.
Obverse
The obverse presents the theme through a combination of state symbols, inscriptions and finely thought-out relief. On the right side – the small State Emblem of Ukraine, decorated with stylized ornaments of Ukrainian embroidery, and the year of minting of the coin 2023. On the obverse of the coin on the mirror surface, one can see: a symbolic composition demonstrating the courage and love of freedom, sincerity and at the same time tenderness, care of Ukrainian women, embodied in the images of mothers and defenders, who during the war took on a huge responsibility – to be on the defense of the Motherland and at the same time remain a wife, mistress and mother (in the center) in the upper part the inscription UKRAINE (in an arc), on the left side of which is shown the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine, decorated with stylized ornaments of Ukrainian embroidery, the denomination – 5 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia. The images of unity and mutual support are read immediately, leaving a feeling of warmth and involvement. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The corporate emblem of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is dominated by a thematic motif, complemented by inscriptions and details that emphasize the idea of the issue. On the right side, the outlines of a female figure in a cloak are shown as a symbol of female initiation (the decorative element is pad printing). On the reverse of the coin, on the mirror surface, a composition symbolizing the femininity of Ukrainian women protectors is visible: on the left side, stylized waves of female hair braided in a braid, as a symbol of the accumulation of vitality necessary for health and spiritual development. Images of unity and mutual support are read immediately, leaving a feeling of warmth and involvement. The texture of the field shows noticeable relief transitions: from thin strokes to deeper areas that catch the light beautifully when the coin is turned.
Historical context
The Ukrainian volunteer movement has become a phenomenon of modern history: it quickly meets the needs of the army and civilians, unites communities and businesses. The coin captures this energy of mutual assistance as a sincere gratitude to those who hold the rear and bring victory closer. It will be an appropriate gift and a warm accent to the collection.
