The commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and expressive composition, which is pleasant to look at. The plot and design details emphasize the theme: the commemorative coin is dedicated to the outstanding achievements of Ukrainian athletes who glorified our country on the world stage, from the first legendary records to the triumphant victory of boxer Oleksandr Usyk, who in May 2024 became the absolute world champion in heavyweight.
Obverse
On the obverse, the composition is readable at first glance: the official attributes of the state and the details of the plot work as a single whole. At the bottom on the right side is the inscription UKRAINE, the denomination 5 with the graphic symbol of the hryvnia, as well as the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. This pattern, which was carefully selected and used by Ukrainian designer Elvira Hasanova in one of the athlete's images in the "battle of views" before the fight for the title of absolute world champion, further emphasizes the inextricable connection between Crimea and Ukraine. The obverse of the coin shows a traditional Crimean Tatar ornament on a mirror surface, symbolizing Oleksandr Usyk's Crimean roots. In the upper part, on the right side of the ornament, the year of minting - 2024 and a small State Emblem of Ukraine are visible. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The company emblem of the NBU Banknote and Mint emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse is dominated by a thematic motif, complemented by inscriptions and details that emphasize the idea of the issue. /2024 (date of the fight), ABSOLUTE and UNDISPUTED (title won by the athlete) 05 below on the left side and on the right side of the champion's silhouette are the inscriptions: 18. On the reverse of the coin, in the center of the composition, a stylized image of an athlete is shown against the background of the outline of the “Motherland” monument - a symbol of the invincibility and strength of the Ukrainian people. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collectible expressiveness. In the texture of the field, relief transitions are noticeable: from thin strokes to deeper areas that beautifully catch the light when the coin is turned.
Historical context
The plot of the coin is tied to an event or image that is important for Ukrainian memory.
