The coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian language - a living space in which memory, freedom and daily care for each other sound. The plot and details of the design emphasize the theme: dedicated to one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. The horse is the seventh sign of the Eastern calendar, which personifies activity, zest for life, independence, endurance and purposefulness.
Overse
The obverse side is built as a holistic scenography, where state symbols are combined with images of the issue theme. The mirror surface depicts 12 symbols of the Eastern calendar in a circle, in the center of the circle - a stylized clock with an arrow pointing to the horse - a symbol of the year, above the arrow - 2026. At the bottom on the left side is the inscription in an arc 5 HRYVENЬ. The obverse of the coin shows: in the upper part – the small State Emblem of Ukraine, on the right side of which is the inscription UKRAINE in an arc, the sign of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (on the right side above the tiger symbol). The matte field depicts symbols of each season stylized as Ukrainian carving: a snowflake (in the upper part), a flower (on the right side), a berry (below), a leaf (on the left side). The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's item. The state emblem in the composition sets the official tone and balances the decorative elements. The corporate emblem of the Banknote and Mint of the NBU emphasizes the official origin of the issue.
Reverse
The reverse side reveals the main image of the issue in a distinct relief and multi-layered composition. Under the central image, three dots are visible, symbolizing the continuation of the struggle. On the reverse of the coin, in the center of the composition, the symbol of 2026 is separately shown - a stylized horse against the background of a horseshoe, which is traditionally associated with good luck and protection. Around the circumference, the horse is surrounded by stylized elements that are characteristic of each season: snowflakes (in the upper part on the right side), flowers (lower part on the right side), fruits (lower part on the left side), branches (upper part on the left side). The horse's mane conveys the dynamics of movement "downwind" or "against the wind" - as a metaphor for inner strength, resistance and the desire for freedom. The careful relief and balance of the fields add to the product a collector's expressiveness.
Historical context
The Ukrainian language is not only a way of communication, but also a support for identity: traditions, songs, literature and family memory are transmitted through it. In the 20th and 21st centuries, it has repeatedly become a marker of freedom and statehood, and now it sounds like a daily gesture of unity and mutual support. It will be an appropriate gift and a warm accent to the collection.
