This commemorative coin conveys the idea of the issue through symbols, relief and an expressive composition that is a pleasure to examine. The subject and design details underscore the theme: dedicated to immortalizing the heroism and honoring the memory of servicemembers and members of volunteer formations who gave their lives in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Obverse

Reverse
The reverse reveals the main image of the issue in expressive relief and a symbolic composition. It depicts a large sunflower blossom symbolizing Ukraine: at the bottom, a teardrop-petal with a tamga represents Crimea, and on the right two bent petals stand for the Donetsk and Luhansk regions; on the right is the inscription 29.08.; around the rim are DAY OF REMEMBRANCE (above) and OF UKRAINE’S FALLEN DEFENDERS (below).
